We’re at a phase of the Internet world when it’s blowing up to a blooming presence in our day to day lives thanks to the Web 2.0 revolution. For those who don’t yet know what the Web 2.0 is, think of it as an entity surrounded by a cloud of functions like entertainment, social networking, streaming video and audio, e-commerce, and much much more than what the Web of the past used to be. Being in the midst of the public eye in the countrywide music scenario and an RJ with a reputed station myself, I realize with my jaw dropped on how this weighs in terms expanding global presence.
Radio on the internet or on air has never been like it is today. There’s much more than just the music to it with news, witty humour and well positioned programmes bridging the gap between music and plain exuberance . Web 2.0 functions allow the presence of podcasts and many stations on their websites feature them as a valuable addition like the nationwide station Big927FM for instance which features exclusive, unpublished musician and top celebrity interviews.
The Web 2.0 functionality in the music industry is a dream come true in the present times and we just need to sit back and watch where the ride’s going to take us to.
